Vinăria Purcari is the oldest wine estate in Moldova. It was established in 1827 and has a long and proud heritage, producing some of Moldova’s most authentic wines, i.e. Negru de Purcari and Roşu de Purcari. In 2003, it was purchased by its current owners and completely renovated and modernized in order to keep Purcari's legacy alive long into the future.

The winery, small by Moldovan standards, is located in the southwestern corner of the country in the Purcari micro zone, whose well-drained, rich calcium soil, combined with a perfect climate for grape cultivation, provides a favorable environment for the production of outstanding wines, especially red wines which are typical of the Purcari region.

After its revival, it took only one year before Purcari wines began winning medals. Since 2004 the winery has been awarded 29 medals and one Grand Prix at many of the world's top wine competitions. Purcari's owners are committed to quality and to the winery's legacy. This commitment is being rewarded, with strong sales to partners from 25 countries worldwide and a loyal consumer based at home in Moldova.

Purcari is also a major player in Moldova’s tourism industry, thanks to its efforts to promote excellence in winemaking and wine tourism. The company has invested in a beautiful fully-equipped and well-appointed chateau-style tourism facility on the winery premise that has quickly become one of Moldova's main tourist attractions.
