On March 16th, the opening day of ProWein 2008 during an invitation-only press event, i.e. Wines of the World & German Cuisine, fourteen wines from Moldova Wine Guild wineries were paired with delicious German dishes prepared by chefs from Jeune Restaurant in Düsseldorf. The Moldovan red wines received considerable attention from the visitors, who included representatives from major wine publications such as Germany’s Kulinariker and Weingut-Flick, UK’s Decanter, Finland’s Aromi-Avec & Viini, and Intermezzo from Ireland.
The event, held in one of Düsseldorf’s the most popular night clubs, Nachtresidez, marked the start of a busy week for the seven members of the Moldova Wine Guild who participated during ProWein 2008. Their goals for the fair were to establish new trading partnership in Germany and to introduce consumers to Moldovan wines that are still little known in Europe.
